I'm going to be building a trailer out of 1/4 inch channel (mild steel). The build will be outside in warm weather. So I was thinking a stick (SMAW) welder would do, but I didn't know what amperage I needed or whether I should use ac or dc current. My input for the welder probably will be 110. Also if you could shed some light on a good electrode for this project that would be good too. Thanks weldingtoday
